First, we want to wish everyone a happy and safe Memorial Day. This is traditionally the day we remember those who have died while performing their military duties, but I'm sure most of us are more familiar with the backyard BBQs, camping trips, or a weekend down the shore. It's the beginning of summer and the end of school. What all of this says to me is that we use the day to remember those we love while being with the ones we love. Whatever form that takes for you, I think it's a beautiful prompt for our mindful making this week. Personally, not only will I take the time to bring my thoughts to those who have died, but I will be thinking about all of the people who are finally getting to hug each other. That image is making me really happy right now, and I hope on this holiday that you find something to bring joy to yourself.
Second, my son painted this flag and he gave me permission to use it for the image on the this blog post. He called it the knitting flag.
